As AI transforms global markets, Cyberport Venture & Capital Forum 2026 brings together the investors and innovators shaping what's next

On 4 and 5 November, Cyberport's flagship annual event will serve as a global platform where business leaders, investors and policymakers come together to examine how AI, capital and tokenised markets are redefining the future of the agentic economy.

Global venture capital is surging in 2026, fuelled by concentrated investment in AI, digital infrastructure, robotics and other frontier technologies. At the same time, agentic AI, tokenisation, stable coins and programmable finance are accelerating the movement of capital across borders, giving rise to an emerging ‘agentic economy.’

Against this backdrop, CVCF 2026 aims to further energise and accelerate venture capital activity by bringing together investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers and technology leaders from around the world.

“At the forefront of driving Hong Kong’s digital transformation, Cyberport actively integrates AI with the broader digital economy by leveraging the city’s unique advantages as a ‘super connector’ and ‘super catalyst’,” he says.

AI dominates global VC market

Globally venture capital investment demonstrated strong momentum, reaching US$170.9 billion across 8,341 transactions in the third quarter of 2026 alone. According to Hendrick Sin, Chairman of the Cyberport Investors Network (CIN) Steering Group, AI-driven platforms continue to attract the lion’s share of investment.

Sin notes that Cyberport’s community has benefited directly from this favourable environment. “Between October 2025 and September 2026, Cyberport community enterprises secured HK$28.5 billion in funding, elevating total cumulative fundraising to over HK$74.5 billion. A substantial HK$20.8 billion of this total was driven by IPOs and strategic transactions.

Cyberport start-ups scale globally

Several Cyberport-supported companies exemplify this momentum. Cross-border fintech platform Qupital secured US$300 million following its Series C round, while data analytics platform Premialab raised US$220 million in funding. Global Web5 wealth technology platform Finloop also secured US$10 million after its A+ round.

“Our vision extends far beyond the local Hong Kong market as we set our sights firmly on the global stage. For our international expansion strategy, we have chosen the United States as our starting point, primarily due to its advanced AI ecosystem and massive e-commerce market. We are continually exploring avenues for broader worldwide growth,” says Winston Wong, co-founder and CEO of Qupital.

At CVCF 2026, the company will focus on building strategic relationships with investors and industry partners.

“Beyond venture capital and private equity firms, the event encompasses a vast array of portfolio companies, enabling us to easily identify potential partners with strong operational synergy,” Wong notes. “Our ultimate goal is to leverage the networks and technologies of these investors and their ecosystems to build enduring strategic partnerships that drive our long-term growth.”

Premialab likewise sees the forum as a valuable platform for growth. Co-founder and COO Pierre Trecourt believes its multi-stakeholder approach creates opportunities that extend well beyond fundraising.

“CVCF supports our strategic growth in three key areas. First, it helps attract top-tier talent and elevate the company's profile in Hong Kong. Second, it facilitates connections with venture capital and private equity investors who truly understand the business model and ecosystem. Finally, it drives joint R&D efforts with academic institutions, building on past successful collaborations with universities in Hong Kong and France to develop next-generation financial solutions.”

Founded at Cyberport in 2016, Premialab leveraged Hong Kong’s strong university talent pipeline and supportive innovation ecosystem before expanding into major international financial centres, Trecourt says. “This global presence enables Premialab to capture larger markets and collaborate closely with top-tier clients to continuously refine its solutions.”

From AI to the Agentic Economy

A major focus of CVCF 2026 will be the rise of agentic AI and its potential to transform business operations and financial services.

According to Zhao Yang, Deputy CEO of Finloop, the company is using agentic AI to identify emerging investment opportunities and automate complex workflows.

“We use it to analyse where capital is flowing. We have discovered instances where certain products perform exceptionally well, yet receive very little capital inflow, representing potential undervalued opportunities in the market,” Zhao notes. “We also handle processes like automated product screening. We have now integrated these tools into our proprietary platform, offering approximately ten specialised agentic AI solutions tailored for financial institutions. These are already successfully deployed with financial institutions today.”

CVCF 2026: where capital meets innovation

Beyond funding, CVCF 2026 explores how AI, Web3, tokenisation and cross-border capital flows are converging to reshape the global economy.

Bringing together leading investors, founders, entrepreneurs, corporations, industry innovators and policymakers, CVCF 2026 will explore themes including enterprise and agentic AI, one-person companies (OPCs), frontier technologies and the future of digital finance. The forum will also showcase Hong Kong’s strategic position at the intersection of Chinese Mainland, ASEAN, the Middle East and global investment networks, while helping start-ups overcome financing and market-entry barriers to unlock new growth opportunities.

Complementing the conference programme, more than 50 exhibitors will showcase cutting-edge technology solutions, while dedicated one-on-one investor matching sessions will connect entrepreneurs and investors to explore partnerships, investments and business opportunities.
