ARLINGTON, Texas, EE.UU. (AP) — Nathan Eovaldi allowed three hits and struck out eight over seven innings, while Wyatt Langford and Joc Pederson each collected three hits as the Texas Rangers defeated the Seattle Mariners 7-1 on Saturday.
Eovaldi (10-8), who allowed one run and issued one walk, now has five starts of at least seven innings this season, the second-highest total in the Major Leagues, behind Dominican pitcher Christopher Sánchez of Philadelphia, who has six.
Langford's three hits included two doubles and matched his season high. Dominican Ezequiel Durán hit a triple, a single and drove in two runs.
Seattle's Bryan Woo (7-7) allowed five runs on nine hits — matching his season high — over five innings. Woo is 1-7 on the road this season with a 6.52 ERA, while at home he is 6-0 with a 2.20 ERA.
Texas took a 3-0 lead in the first inning with three extra-base hits and a walk.
The Rangers scored twice in the second inning on another Langford double that scored Pederson, and on Durán's single that brought Langford home.
Nicky López hit a two-run double in the seventh.
Texas scored four times in innings where the first two batters were retired.
