The field of eight teams that will compete in the quarterfinals of the European Volleyball Championship, scheduled between Turin and Sofia on September 22 and 23, has been determined.
The last team to qualify was Slovenia, coached by Italian Fabio Soli, who this evening in Turin convincingly defeated Serbia 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-22) and will face Belgium, which had beaten the Czech Republic 3-1 in the afternoon.
The quarterfinals in Sofia get underway tomorrow, with Poland vs. Germany and France vs. Romania. Wednesday sees the other two matches at the PalaVela, with Belgium vs. Slovenia in the afternoon and in the evening the Italian national team, who will play their quarterfinal at 9:05 p.m. against Finland.
