MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. The previously approved state standard for palladium bullion bars has come into force in Russia.
According to the document, the standard establishes requirements for the dimensions and weight of minted palladium bars ranging from 5 to 500 grams, as well as their chemical composition, from Pd 999.0 to Pd 999.9 grades (with the mass fraction of refined palladium ranging from 99.9% to 99.99%).
In addition, the standard defines requirements for surface quality, marking, packaging, and the certificate that accompanies each bar to confirm its compliance with the standard.
The Russian standardization authority, Rosstandart, previously told TASS that palladium had remained the only investment precious metal without its own national standard. Gold, platinum, and silver had been standardized earlier. The regulator said the adoption of the standard for palladium bars also creates a foundation for exchange trading, as a standardized product with known characteristics is required for admission to organized trading.
