FIFA's financial reserves are "very high," and UEFA is asking Gianni Infantino to distribute a share of them to the 211 member federations. In a letter sent by email to the FIFA president, which ANSA has reviewed, UEFA calls for "distributing at least 10 million" to each member, based on a conservative estimate that would keep FIFA's financial reserves above one and a half billion dollars, considered the safety threshold.
The letter is signed by UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and Victor Montagliani, FIFA vice-president and president of CONCACAF, who is credited with a possible candidacy against Infantino. In the letter, a request is made to discuss the proposal at council level, and UEFA says it is ready to "involve other confederations" in the project, which is seen as an alternative to the proposal made by Infantino in recent months to distribute a share to the federations, but linked to the FFE project — the FIFA-controlled company with a 20% stake of US private capital.
