This also confirms the last home venue for the Azzurri's group stage, who will make their debut on September 25 against Belgium at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome before facing Turkey on the 28th at the Atatürk Spor Kompleksi in Bursa. Italy – who will visit Les Bleus on Friday, October 2 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis – will close the first international window of the season by facing Turkey again on October 5 at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in Bologna.
The National Team returns to Milan one year after the defeat (1-4) against Norway in the final match of the World Cup qualifying group stage, and two years after the loss (1-3) against France in the Nations League. Italy has lost their last three matches played in Milan, where the Azzurri had previously maintained an unbeaten run lasting 96 years: from the 1-2 defeat in January 1925 against Hungary (at the Campo Milan, while in 1911 the other defeat against the Hungarians came at the Arena Civica) to the 1-2 loss in October 2021 against Spain at the 'Meazza'.
