A 37-year-old man has been arrested by the Carabinieri of Settimo Vittone (Turin) for stalking and illegal possession of a weapon. The intervention of the military personnel, in a municipality in the Canavese area, was requested a few days ago by the man's former partner, who reported to emergency services (112) that she had been threatened, with her ex-partner promising to kill her, and violently struck with a punch to the face in the entrance hall of her home. The military immediately stopped the attacker, who was found in possession of an air rifle that had been reported stolen in 2007 in Lombardy, four shotgun cartridges and 24 grams of marijuana. At the barracks, the woman confirmed that she had long been a victim of oppressive behaviour and aggressive attitudes on the part of her former partner, which had never been reported before. The 37-year-old was also reported while remaining free for assault and receiving stolen goods, as well as being referred to the Turin prefecture for drug possession. He is now in prison in Ivrea.
