A two-storey building has collapsed in Messina, in the Pistunina area, along state road 114.
According to initial information gathered by firefighters, who are working with several teams on site, there are believed to be some missing persons.
The building housed shops on the ground floor and first floor, and residential units on the second floor. It was the family members of people living in the building who alerted firefighters after being unable to make contact with their relatives.
