Until now "I chose to be faithful to my discretion, but this is also my story and it is right that I too defend myself and tell my version." This is what Fabio Maria Damato, former right-hand man of Chiara Ferragni, says in a lengthy interview with Silvia Toffanin on Verissimo, airing exclusively on Saturday, September 19 on "Verissimo," where he will speak on television for the first time about his journey and will tell his truth about the "Pandoro Gate" affair. When asked whether he still speaks to Chiara Ferragni, Damato replies: "No, there is no longer a relationship. I think that when a bond with someone with whom you have shared so much breaks down, it is then difficult to recover it — it takes time." No one "is ready for a storm like this and everyone reacts in their own way. However, it is fundamental to look around and truly understand who the people are that have been upright and who has never been of any help," he observes. "A mistake I made was thinking that professional relationships could also be friendships." Damato explains that he "suffered from depression for several months. I felt hunted, I saw my image appearing on television, I had cameras outside my home, at a certain point I had no more strength, I didn't want to get out of bed. It was such a dark moment." His relationship with Fedez? "Entirely circumstantial. I respected him as my boss's husband and always kept very much in mind what the limits were that should not be crossed." Chiara Ferragni's former right-hand man clarifies that he was "completely left out of the reality show The Ferragnez operation because I couldn't understand its boundaries, in addition to the fact that I didn't think it was right for Chiara." The criticism over the famous video in the grey tracksuit? "I would have done something very different, I would have better explained the dynamics of the initiative. Since it was the most criticised aspect, the public would probably have appreciated hearing an apology." The controversy that erupted over the food thrown during the party organised at the supermarket? "It was an initiative I had not wanted to take part in. I had found out about this party," he emphasises, "and had advised against holding it."
