Grief and emotion in the world of football: Ronald Koeman has announced the death of his wife Bartina following a long illness. "With great sadness, but also with great pride and love, we say goodbye to my beautiful wife, dear mother and grandmother", he wrote on his social media, posting an image of the two of them together. Koeman stepped down as manager of the Netherlands national team immediately after this summer's World Cup in order to be by Bartina's side.
