Alba returns as a protagonist in Mirabilia "On the Road", the showcase that brings the best of contemporary circus, street theatre and performing arts to the municipalities of the province of Cuneo. From 31 July to 2 August, the Cortile della Maddalena, Piazza Duomo and the streets of the historic centre will be transformed into a grand open-air stage. The event reaffirms the bond between the city and the Festival, which in 2026 celebrates its twentieth anniversary, following years of artistic research, international outreach and dialogue with local communities.
Opening the showcase on Friday 31 July will be Compagnia Hanami with Lusìn, a contemporary circus show combining aerial dance, visual theatre and luminous suggestions inspired by the mysterious lights of Alpine and Piedmontese tradition. On Saturday 1 August, the historic centre will be brought to life by Woow! from Compagnia Bruboc, blending physical comedy with audience participation, while the Cortile della Maddalena will host Edèn by Théâtre Jaleo, one of the Festival's most anticipated international offerings. The show combines figure theatre, dance, music and visual arts in a poetic journey through the fragility, desires and contradictions of the human soul. The evening will continue in Piazza Duomo with I Custodi delle Fiamme by the company Calidè, a performance combining fire, dance and juggling. On Sunday 2 August, the programme will feature Sirene by Sara Vilardo, an itinerant performance inspired by the Odyssey, along with further appearances by Bruboc. The closing act will once again be entrusted to Edèn.
Throughout the entire duration of the event, "La Piazza dei Balocchi" by Microcirco will also be present — a space dedicated to children and families featuring old-fashioned games, workshops and installations designed to engage multiple generations.
