MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Moscow has established an uninterrupted channel for mutual settlements with African countries, with the ruble accounting for 85% of those transactions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Russia-Africa summit.

"The promotion of economic and investment partnerships between Russia and countries on the continent is directly facilitated by the reliable and seamless channels for mutual settlements in national currencies that we have established together. The share of the ruble in Russian-African commercial transactions has already reached as much as 85%," he said.

"All of this helps to shield our economic exchanges from external influence and makes them more resilient to fluctuations in the global economic and political landscape," Putin added.
