MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Africa naturally wants to lay down a solid manufacturing base on the continent, as that would do wonders for its economy, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted during the Russia-Africa summit.

"Virtually all of us talk about generating value added within our own borders, creating jobs, and consequently securing revenues at every level of the tax system," he noted. "It must be said that Africa is not aspiring to anything unusual here Practically every nation in the world is talking about the very same thing."

"Therefore, to suggest that Africa is demanding something unique would be [incorrect]," Putin concluded.

According to the Russian leader, the Central African Republic's (CAR) initiative to retain as much industrial production as possible within its own territory and to create jobs "must, without a doubt, be supported."
