MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. A complete blackout occurred again in Kiev on Friday night. Following the damage to a critical power facility in the Ukrainian capital, emergency power outages were implemented, the metro service was disrupted, the water supply was interrupted, and the city's sewer system experienced issues for the first time ever.

TASS has compiled the key details on the situation in Kiev.

Emergency power outages

- Several Kiev neighborhoods on the right bank of the Dnieper River, as well as a number of districts in the Kiev region, were left without power, and emergency power outage schedules were implemented, Ukraine’s DTEK energy company reported.

- The company noted that the scheduled outages do not apply during emergency power cuts.

- Earlier, the Strana news outlet reported that power outages in Kiev were occurring outside of the scheduled times.

Water supply, sewer system situation

- The water supply has been cut off in several Kiev neighborhoods, the UNIAN news agency reported.

- No further details were provided.

- The previous evening, the administration of three small settlements on the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital reported disruptions in the sewer system.

- According to district administration official Alexander Medved, the sewer system failure is affecting the drainage and water supply systems, and it is unclear when service will resume.

Suspension of public transportation

- Public transportation ceased operations in three Kiev neighborhoods due to a power outage, the Kievpastrans company reported.

- Overnight, due to a blackout, train service was temporarily halted on all three lines of the Kiev metro, and the lights were turned off at some stations.

- Photos and videos posted on social media and Telegram channels showed people making their way out of metro stations via stopped escalators.

- When metro service resumed, trains ran at long intervals.
