"What could have happened in the UK over the weekend is a very serious situation" that "clearly involves the hands of a foreign actor," he told Fox News.
On September 27, five people were reported detained near RAF Fairford, a British air base used by the US Air Force. US President Donald Trump said in connection with the incident that the United States had been investigating the detainees, who, according to him, were looking to damage the air base. The suspects were initially detained on suspicion of offenses under the Explosives Act, but police later said they were also suspected of preparing an act of terrorism.
