The unsettled weather front persists across central and northern Italy, bringing rain and localised thunderstorms. From tomorrow, the bad weather will also affect the South. The forecasts are confirmed by Lorenzo Tedici, chief media meteorologist at iLMeteo.it.
"Intermittently persistent rainfall is expected," he emphasises, "across the Triveneto, Liguria, Upper Tuscany and Lombardy, with widespread phenomena across much of the North. The southern regions, meanwhile, will remain temporarily protected by high pressure, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 30°C." In the North, by contrast, a temperature drop of at least 5°C is expected, more pronounced in areas affected by rain, which will at times be quite heavy.
Tomorrow, the instability will gradually spread across the entire country. Models indicate scattered rainfall across the North and much of the Centre, progressively shifting towards the South, where the first events will affect Sicily and Campania before extending to the remaining areas.
Over the course of the weekend, the unsettled conditions will remain concentrated in the South and parts of the central regions, while the North will see predominantly dry weather. Specifically, Saturday is forecast to bring scattered rainfall across the Centre-South and residual cloud cover in the North; on Sunday, rain will be limited to the South, most frequently between Sicily and Calabria, and locally along the central Adriatic coast, within an overall picture of gradual improvement.
