A charred corpse was recovered last night in the Salerno area, during firefighting operations on an interfield road in the municipality of Eboli (Salerno). The body was found among burned scrub, and is not identifiable. No documents or other elements useful to the investigation were found. An autopsy will be performed to determine the circumstances. Firefighters and carabinieri attended the scene and are continuing their investigation into the case.

The man whose charred and unidentifiable body was found on agricultural land in Eboli, in the Salerno area, is believed to have been killed and then set on fire. A breakthrough in the investigation came following the discovery, in the area, of an empty car registered to Luigi Esposito, 53, whose name was released by the Salerno prosecutor's office: the investigation has established that he is believed to be the victim, even though it has not yet been possible to carry out detailed examinations on the body.
