Cristiano Ronaldo's adventure with the Portugal national team is not over yet: the 41-year-old Portuguese champion has been called up by manager Jorge Jesus for the first four matchdays of the Nations League. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner's name appears on the first squad list of the Portuguese coach, who replaced Spaniard Roberto Martinez after the 2026 World Cup.
Jorge Jesus managed the Saudi club Al-Nassr last season, where Ronaldo plays. CR7 announced in August that this year would "probably" be his last as a professional player. During this summer's World Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player in history to score at six World Cups.
"If he performs well, he plays; if he doesn't perform well, it doesn't matter. He has a different status because his career is different, he has five Ballon d'Or awards," Jesus explained. "Does that count for my decisions? No," he added.
