The Rome Prosecutor's Office has opened a file for bodily harm in connection with the wounding of Cristina Stillitano, which occurred last Monday on Via della Giuliana, in the Prati district. According to initial findings by carabinieri from the San Pietro Company, coordinated by deputy prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini, the woman was struck by a metal pellet. During the morning, technical surveys were carried out by RIS personnel, while a report was transmitted to investigators handling the case.
In addition to Monday evening's incident and a similar one on Friday, reported by another woman, accountant Angela Perrone, investigators are also examining another case involving two Spanish tourists. They too, as reported by the owners of a local business in the area, were allegedly struck by several shots in recent weeks.
Angela Perrone, who has her accountancy practice on Via della Giuliana, describes Friday's incident as having occurred in the late afternoon. "I was returning from the gym when I felt a rush of air at hip level and then a blow to my calf. Fortunately, I was only grazed," she recounts. The woman explained that she experienced only mild pain and suffered a bruise on her calf. "I wasn't seriously hurt, whereas the woman struck on Monday was wounded and will need surgery. At this point we fear there is someone who is doing this for fun and who is gradually using increasingly dangerous weapons." Only yesterday, after reading the news of Cristina Stillitano's wounding, did she decide to report the incident to the carabinieri.
