Orlando Bloom will receive the Filming Italy International Award at the Venice Lido on September 6, as part of the 7th edition of the accolade conceived and directed by Tiziana Rocca. "The award is presented to personalities who, through their talent and artistic journey, have contributed significantly to the growth and promotion of cinema and audiovisual content at an international level," a statement explains.

"It is a great honour for us to welcome Orlando Bloom to the new edition of the Filming Italy Venice Award," comments Tiziana Rocca. "He is a performer of extraordinary charisma, capable of captivating audiences around the world with elegance, talent and versatility. Throughout his career he has brought iconic characters to life that have become part of the collective imagination, contributing to the success of some of the most beloved film franchises of all time. We are proud to celebrate his artistic journey and his ongoing commitment to promoting the value of international cinema." Bloom, who is among the cast of Bucking Fastard, the new film by Werner Herzog presented in competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, rose to international fame through his participation in two of the greatest film franchises of all time: The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean. He recently appeared in The Cut, a film in which he stars and which he produced through his production company Amazing Owl, and in the action comedy Deep Cover.

The Filming Italy Venice Award "has for several years now been part of the Venice International Film Festival," it is noted. "It is an accolade presented to Italian and international films and TV series, as well as to the best talent — in addition to industry and professional figures — of the most recent film season. The award supports the fight against violence against women and is dedicated to all women working in the film industry, both in front of and behind the camera."
