A man died in the waters of the Adda river in Truccazzano (Milan), in the locality of Golfo Rivolta, and firefighters, who released the news, are attempting to recover his body.
The victim was likely trying to help his 4-year-old nephew who had jumped into the water, but drowned in the attempt, possibly due to a sudden illness.
The man was in the company of his brother, and the young child was airlifted to the hospital in Bergamo in critical condition. The brother is in shock.
First responders from the 118 emergency service and the Carabinieri are on the scene, attempting to understand what happened.
