On the day of the official announcement of his new role as Germany's head coach, Jürgen Klopp bids farewell and thanks Red Bull, where he will be stepping down from his position as head of global football.
"Becoming head coach of the German national team is a great honour and, at the same time, a great challenge that I am eager to face. I am therefore very grateful to Oliver Mintzlaff (CEO Corporate Projects and Investments Red Bull), as well as to fellow CEOs Franz Watzlawick and Alexander Kirchmayr, for giving me the opportunity to take this step. I know this decision was not easy for them. That is precisely why I particularly appreciate their understanding, their trust and their support."
"I leave Red Bull," Klopp concludes, "with the conviction that the global football organisation is in an exceptionally strong position and has a successful future ahead of it.
