The test carried out at the Niguarda hospital in Milan on Daniel Maldini, a player for Cagliari and the national team who last weekend, in Milan, caused a road accident in which five people were slightly injured, came back "below the cut-off limit" for narcotic substances. The checks ordered by local police investigators, who had confiscated his licence after he tested positive on the breathalyser, and which will now be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's office, therefore show that the results "are not compatible" with driving under a state of psychophysical impairment.
