MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Russia sees prospects of organizing a grain hub in Egypt's Alexandria, where one of Russian traders is already working, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said.

"We already have a site in Alexandria, where one of our traders is working, where the partnership is in place. And we the hub development right in Alexandria," she said.

The Egyptian side also offered an alternative site for the grain hub, the minister noted. "The partners proposed that we consider the site in a different place; the counterparties are now calculating economic parameters. We will certainly continue the dialogue because it is interesting for us," she said.

Russian grain supplies to Egypt declined due to logistical constraints in the Azov-Black Sea Basin, Lut said. "Considering transportation constraints in the Azov-Black Sea Basin as regards logistics, we certainly started supplying less grain to Egypt. We delivered 1.6 mln metric tons during the start of the season. There were 3.5 mln metric tons last year," the minister added.
