MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin shared the secret behind his remarkable energy at a meeting with Togo’s Prime Minister Faure Gnassingbe at the Kremlin, part of a series of meetings with African leaders attending the Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow.
"Mr. President, I would sincerely like to thank you for being available for the meeting, and for your patience. Yesterday, I saw how many meetings you held. However, you looked less tired than we did," Gnassingbe said.
"Mr. Prime Minister, Russian people say that time spent with friends does not count toward one’s age, so we are simply enjoying our time with our friends from Africa," Putin replied with a smile.
On Thursday, following an extensive program of the summit’s plenary session, the Russian president held talks with several heads of African delegations, which continued almost until midnight. In particular, he met with the leaders of Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, Burundi, and Kenya. The marathon continued on Friday, with Putin holding talks with the leaders of Sudan, Madagascar, Ghana, Mali, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Togo.
