The world premiere of The Nameless Ballad, the new horror film directed by Federico Zampaglione, will take place at the 26th edition of Tubi FrightFest in London on Saturday, August 29 at 9:00 PM during the Saturday Night Gala. Zampaglione "returns to directing after the success of The Well, sold in 104 countries worldwide," a press release notes.
Zampaglione and part of the cast, including actresses Giglia Marra and Alana Boden, will attend the screening at Tubi FrightFest, "the most important festival in the United Kingdom dedicated to horror, fantasy, sci-fi and thriller cinema." The film is a Somic Film production in association with Minerva Pictures, produced by Michele Protino. It will be released in Italian cinemas through Filmclub Distribuzione starting November 5, 2026, with previews across Italy on Halloween.
Written by the director alongside Barbara Baraldi, novelist and editorial curator of Dylan Dog, The Nameless Ballad also stars Jamie Ward (His Dark Materials), Fabrizio Ferracane, Seumas Sargent, Reed Stokes, Sergio Ceglie, Mia Desando and Vincenzo De Michele, in a cast that brings together Italian and international performers.
The story's protagonist is Sam Gallo, a twenty-seven-year-old English musician of Italian descent who falls into a devastating creative crisis and drug dependency, the synopsis explains. Crushed by pressure from his entourage, who demand a new success, he returns to Italy, to the places of his childhood, in a desperate attempt to rediscover his lost inspiration. But in the house where he chooses to isolate himself, he comes into contact with dark presences that seem to feed on his fears.
"Being invited to Tubi FrightFest in London," Zampaglione comments, "is an enormous honour. For me, this moment did not come overnight, but is the result of a journey that began in 2009, made up of passion, stubbornness, setbacks and fresh starts. Almost twenty years dedicated to this genre, always trying to tell it with my own identity, without chasing trends. Today I feel I am reaping what I have sown. I am glad that, together with my team, we are helping to bring Italian horror cinema back to increasingly important international stages."
