"This is the worst attack we have suffered on our worksites from 2011 to today, so it was a very, very bad day and we suffered significant damage." This is what the general director of Telt, Massimo Bufalini, said at the end of the inspection of the TAV construction site in Chiomonte, which was attacked last Saturday during the No TAV march.
"Beyond the physical damage, which in any case can be assessed as very significant, in the order of one million euros, what is more serious," Bufalini explained, "is that the environmental monitoring control units were destroyed, the control units used to operate the excavation machinery, and so we will first need to verify whether there has been any pollution, something that occurred, for example, during last year's attacks, because incendiary materials were used." Therefore, Bufalini continued, "we no longer have the monitoring instruments, meaning that in addition to the physical damage to the worksite that will need to be rebuilt and the materials that will need to be repurchased, there will also be the time required for restoration."
