Spider-Man: Brand New Day could take Titanic's place in the ranking of the five highest-grossing films in history. The film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya among others, has grossed $2.22 billion worldwide and needs only $44 million more to overtake Titanic (1997). The film directed by James Cameron sits in fifth place among the highest-grossing films in history, behind Avatar (2009), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).

On the subject of records, Christopher Nolan's Odyssey is on the verge of surpassing Barbie's box office earnings, needing just under one million dollars to overtake the 2023 film directed by Greta Gerwig. Odyssey stands at $1.352 billion while Barbie grossed approximately $1.44 billion worldwide.
