Breakthrough in the investigation into the death of Salerno journalist Luigi 'Luca' Esposito, who was found charred last Sunday in an agricultural field in Eboli.

The individual believed to be responsible for the murder of the 53-year-old has been identified and placed under arrest on suspicion of committing the crime. He is a 26-year-old man, with no fixed abode and illegally present on Italian territory. This is the outcome of the investigative activities directed by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Salerno and carried out by the Investigative Unit of the Salerno Provincial Command.

The 26-year-old was hiding inside an abandoned farmhouse in the countryside of the town in the Piana del Sele area. For days, investigators combed through footage from the few security cameras present in the area and reconstructed the route taken by the victim in his car between last Saturday and Sunday.
