NEW DELHI, September 27. /TASS/. Russia is ready to supply India with as much oil as the South Asian country needs, Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov said.
"We have repeatedly stated publicly that we are ready to supply India with as much oil as it needs," he said at the NDTV Defence Summit.
According to Alipov, in addition to oil, Russia has been India’s partner for many years in nuclear energy, petrochemical production, and oil refining.
"We have been doing this for many years and intend to continue our cooperation. We are completely open to it," he stressed.
India is the world’s third-largest oil importer and consumer. The country meets more than 88% of its oil needs through imports. Russia currently remains one of India’s key oil suppliers. Russian oil supplies to India reached their highest level since 2022 in July, at 2.8 mln barrels per day, accounting for more than half of India’s oil imports.
