The Genoa prosecutor's office has closed its investigation into Mohammad Hannoun, the activist and president of the Association of Palestinians in Italy who was arrested last December 27 on terrorism charges for allegedly financing Hamas through a network of charitable associations.

In addition to Hannoun, the prosecutor's office sent notice of the conclusion of the preliminary investigation to Riyad Albustanji, Yaser Elasaly, Raed Dawoud, Adel Ibrahim Salameh Abu Rawwa and Khalil Abu Deiah. The investigations have been closed for six of the seven alleged terrorists who were imprisoned nine months ago. The first four (Hannoun, Albustanji, Elasaly and Dawoud) have since been held in high-security prisons in Terni, Rossano Calabro, Ferrara and Sassari.
