BANGKOK, September 29. /TASS/. The death toll from flooding in Thailand has risen to 23, with over 2.6 million people affected by the disaster, The Nation newspaper reported, citing data from the kingdom’s Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM).
At present, flooding persists in 29 provinces and in Bangkok, affecting 940,300 households. The country's central regions were hit hardest. More than 260,000 households and over 818,000 people were affected in Samut Prakan province bordering on the capital of Thailand.
In Bangkok, where a natural disaster regime was declared, around 329,000 households or approximately 700,000 people were affected. Meanwhile, floodwaters in the Thai capital have been subsiding.
