MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. All the world is responsible for tomorrow, and this task must be addressed without delay, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the plenary session of the 23rd annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

"We all, the entire global community, bear shared responsibility for tomorrow. And this is not an exaggeration, not a metaphor; I repeat, this is an absolutely practical task that we need to solve, and that we need to address without delay," Putin said.

"I hope that future generations will be able to learn from future history textbooks that the second quarter of the 21st century became a turning point when humanity, having realized the scale of the changes and the challenges to its existence, found the strength to put aside its ambitions and selfishness and unite to solve common problems, transformed the technological revolution from a set of threats into a wide range of opportunities and began to solve problems not in words, but in deeds; it recognized the futility of military confrontation and the need for a solution to the emerging issues and problems that is acceptable to all of us, and, finally, it began to build a new, sustainable world order," the president noted.

Putin said that he is confident in precisely this scenario. "Because if all this does not happen, there is a risk that there will be no one left to learn from these textbooks. Let’s believe in the best, and most importantly, let’s do everything we can to ensure that this best comes and is with us."
