MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Russia reduced pipeline gas supplies to Turkey by 17% year-on-year in January-August 2026, according to TASS calculations based on Eurostat data.

According to Eurostat data, which almost entirely coincide with statistics from Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), Turkey imported a total of 723 mln cubic meters of Russian gas via the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines in August.

Overall, Russian gas supplies to Turkey via pipelines reached 12.1 bln cubic meters in January-August, down 16.7%.

Russia supplies gas to Turkey through two pipelines across the Black Sea. Blue Stream was commissioned in early 2003 and has a design capacity of 16 bln cubic meters per year and a total length of 1,213 km. The TurkStream export gas pipeline consists of two strings, one designed to supply gas to Turkish consumers and the other to supply countries in Southern and Southeastern Europe. TurkStream has a total capacity of 31.5 bln cubic meters per year and began operations in January 2020.
