Brad Pitt returns to the San Sebastián International Film Festival after almost twenty years. The actor will be in the Basque city in September to present 'Heart of the Beast', a survival thriller directed by David Ayer, in which he plays a former Special Forces soldier lost in Alaska. The film will be presented out of competition in the Official Selection. Pitt had not attended the festival since 2009, when he presented 'Inglourious Basterds' with Quentin Tarantino.
According to the plot of the Paramount Pictures film, James Belmont (Pitt) and his military K9 dog, Odin, struggle to survive after a plane crash in the remote wilderness of Alaska. Amid rugged mountains, extreme temperatures and threats lurking in the unspoiled wilderness, every day becomes a race against time and against his own limits for the officer. To find a way to safety, James and Odin will have to rely on courage, instinct and the deep bond that unites them, in an intense adventure where survival depends on the strength of their mutual relationship.
The US theatrical release is scheduled for September 25, while in Italy it will be released the day before, distributed by Eagle Pictures. The last time Pitt and Ayer worked together was on 'Fury' (2014).
