TUNIS, October 7. /TASS/. Iranian armed forces will soon block illegal routes used to transport oil through the Strait of Hormuz, Mohammad Reza Naghdi, an adviser to the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran’s elite military force, said.
"Iranian forces will soon block several routes that violators created by blasting and destroying rocky areas in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz," the Fars news agency quoted him as saying.
According to Naghdi, the volume of oil illegally transported through the strait is extremely small. "It cannot be said that the Strait of Hormuz is open to such activities, but some use small vessels to smuggle oil and transfer it to tankers," he said.
The adviser to the IRGC commander-in-chief stressed that "the Strait of Hormuz is under the full control of the armed forces" until Iran’s legitimate demands are met.
