A major Tasmanian highway has been cut off after a boat "became stuck" during transport.
Tasmania Police said the Channel Highway is "completely blocked 5 kilometres south of Cygnet, at Gardners Bay at the intersection of Gospel Hall Road".
The road one of the main arterial roads south of Hobart.
The boat is the Emmalisa, a wooden ferry built around 1947 and currently under restoration.
Police say there is "no alternate route, and heavy equipment is being sourced to remove the boat" from its predicament.
Delays of one to two hours are expected, police have advised.
Motorists are asked to "slow down in the area and obey all directions from transport inspectors and police".
