Rothko in Florence closed yesterday with over 300,000 visitors — a project conceived specifically for the rooms of Palazzo Strozzi and the two satellite venues of the Museo di San Marco and the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana. Curated by Christopher Rothko and Elena Geuna, the exhibition celebrated the special bond between the master of American modern art and Florence, with works from private collections and the world's most important international museums, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Tate in London, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.

Over its 162 days of opening, Palazzo Strozzi welcomed 301,730 visitors, making Rothko in Florence the most visited exhibition in the Foundation's twenty-year history. During the same period, the Museo di San Marco recorded 96,665 visitors.

The exhibition also achieved wide online visibility: over 6,100,000 people were reached by content published on the Foundation's social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn), generating more than 470,000 interactions in the form of likes, comments and shares. During the exhibition period, the website palazzostrozzi.org recorded over 538,000 users for a total of more than 1,900,000 page views.
