The 22-year-old girl who fell from the window of her room at the Guardia di Finanza inspectors and superintendents school in Coppito, a district of L'Aquila, died during the night after the incident occurred yesterday afternoon.
The young woman's condition had appeared desperate from the outset. Doctors at the San Salvatore hospital in the Abruzzo regional capital made futile attempts to save her.
The student had undergone surgery for the serious trauma sustained to her head and pelvis.
