Exports of Mexican products recorded year-on-year growth of 34.4% in June and 24.6% in the first half of 2026. According to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), foreign sales reached a record figure of $389.7 billion in the first six months of the year, driven primarily by the manufacturing industry.
At the same time, the country's total imports grew by 22% over the same period, approaching $379.9 billion. Mexico thus accumulated a trade surplus of $9.9 billion from January to June.
At the sectoral level, the automotive industry's resilience stands out. Despite tariffs imposed by the United States, vehicle exports increased by 7.6% in June and by 1% over the course of the semester. The opposite trend was seen in agricultural and fishing exports, which recorded a contraction of 4% in the first half of the year, penalized in particular by lower sales of products such as melons, coffee and avocados. The oil sector performed positively, with a volume of crude oil exported in June of 648,000 barrels per day.
