TEL-AVIV, October 22. /TASS/. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected media reports that earlier this month his country planned to attack Iran, but cancelled the operation because of the US stance.

Financial Times (FT) reported on Wednesday that Netanyahu gave orders to the Israeli Air Force to prepare for large-scale strikes against Iran. Sources said the attack could take place on October 10, and Israeli pilots were ready. However, the operation was ultimately cancelled, because US President Donald Trump opposed the move.

Commenting on the article, Netanyahu told the Arutz Sheva portal: "This report does not correspond to reality."

At the same time, he did not elaborate on details of his recent conversations with Trump.

On October 18, Netanyahu announced that he had talked to the US president over the phone to discuss future joint measures against Iran. The Israeli premier added that both Israel and the United States were still seeking to topple the government in Tehran.
