Lazio win away from home, beating Venezia 2-0 and joining Roma and Inter at the top of the table. In the Saturday evening match of the fifth round of Serie A, the home side had the chance to take the lead from the penalty spot, with Yeboah's kick after a challenge with Adams saved by Mandas. In the second half, however, Zaccagni made no mistake from the spot and put his side ahead in the 51st minute; Noslin doubled the lead in the 60th minute to seal the result. It is Lazio's best ever start in Serie A history; the crisis deepens for Stroppa's Venezia, still stuck on zero points, who left the pitch to chants of protest from their own fans.
