MELITOPOL, October 13. /TASS/. The situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant remains stable but very tense, Director Yury Chernichuk said.
"It’s a stable but extremely tense situation, because the situation has been escalating since April and it continues to escalate. It's a real pressure cooker there. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any radical improvements or positive changes," Chernichuk said in an interview with the Energodar TV channel En TV.
He noted that only "individual changes" in the repairs of one of the two power supply lines and periodic cargo deliveries can be seen.
However, the ongoing Ukrainian attacks prevent stable and safe transportation of personnel and materials necessary for the nuclear power plant, the director said. Chernichuk said that since April Ukraine has killed nine employees of the Zaporozhye nuclear power station and injured more than 50 people.
