The second season of Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen, consisting of 8 episodes, arrives on September 3, exclusively on Netflix, which has released the trailer. It has also been officially confirmed that the series will return with a third season, with Ritchie once again at the helm. On the occasion of this major announcement, Guy Ritchie stated: "The ambition of The Gentlemen has grown, the world has expanded and the stakes are ever higher. A third season felt inevitable and I can't wait to push its boundaries even further."
Part of the series will be set in Italy, which is why actors such as Sergio Castellitto, Benedetta Porcaroli and Michele Morrone are joining the cast. The footage shows the return of Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones, while also offering a first glimpse of the stunning Lake Maggiore, one of the series' new settings and a location famous throughout the world.
A year has passed since Eddie and Susie began working together on Bobby's criminal empire abroad. As they aim to expand their business, Bobby appears to be making increasingly reckless decisions. Now the two must decide whether to act or risk losing everything, but unchecked ambition never leads anywhere good. The second season cast also includes the previously announced Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Sergio Castellitto in the role of Marco Moretti, a powerful and ruthless mafia boss, and Michele Morrone, who will play Cico Maldini, an unstable fixer upon whom the protagonists will rely to navigate the Italian criminal market. Following its debut in March 2024, the first season of The Gentlemen quickly established itself as a global success, entering Netflix's top 10 in over 90 countries and reaching number one in 75 of them. Between 2024 and 2025, the series has amassed 100 million views worldwide.
Meanwhile, a mystery surrounds the denial by Tina Brown, following rumours that had circulated regarding negotiations between Meghan Markle's representatives over a possible role for the Duchess of Sussex in the third season of The Gentlemen. It was Tina Brown, former editor of The New Yorker and Vanity Fair as well as biographer and confidante of Lady Diana, who stated, in a newsletter published on Substack, that she had learned the casting of the Duchess of Sussex for the third season of The Gentlemen had been withdrawn. However, according to other British tabloids such as The Sun, Meghan Markle is still in negotiations for a part in Guy Ritchie's series, despite reports that she had been dropped following the extremely strong negative reaction generated in the United Kingdom.
