Two nurses were attacked in the night between Sunday and today, Monday, September 21, while on duty at the Santo Spirito hospital in Rome by a man who became agitated due to the long wait. The two healthcare workers, a man and a woman, sustained injuries.
The Carabinieri of the Rome Mobile Radio Unit, who intervened on the scene, stopped and arrested the 54-year-old Roman man who, before attacking the two nurses, had also thrown several rubbish bins and a fire extinguisher to the ground. By order of the Judicial Authority, the arrested man will be taken this morning to the courtrooms at Piazzale Clodio for the validation hearing. He is charged with assault against personnel exercising a healthcare or social-healthcare profession.
