MOSCOW, October 2. /TASS/. Assault groups practiced a covert strike behind the lines of a simulated enemy using underground routes during the Center-2026 exercises, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The tactic of covertly crossing the gray zone via underground routes was practiced by assault units during the main stage of the strategic command and staff exercise Center-2026 at the Chebarkul training ground. The assault groups carried out a covert advance along the water supply line and through a pre-prepared underground passage to the rear of the enemy’s stronghold," it said in a statement.
The ministry said that attack UAVs, as well as ground-based robotic systems with combat modules, were used to provide fire support for the assault units.
