MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported the nomination of Vyacheslav Volodin for the position of speaker of the State Duma, or lower house of parliament, of the ninth convocation.
"On my part, I fully support Vyacheslav Volodin’s nomination for speaker of the State Duma of the next convocation," he said at a meeting with the leaders of the parties that won parliamentary seats during the recent elections.
He noted that during his tenure as speaker of the eighth State Duma, Volodin organized the house’s work effectively, thanks to which the atmosphere there was principled and business-like.
