A veteran Hong Kong stock commentator has died at the age of 66, with a police source revealing he had a history of heart disease and diabetes.
Louie Shum Chun-ying’s twin sister confirmed on Sunday that her 66-year-old elder brother died Saturday night at Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai, sharing the news in a post on his social media page.
Shum was chief executive of stock brokerage Fortune Securities until his retirement two years ago.
“My brother dedicated his life to Hong Kong’s financial and securities industry, mentoring generations of students throughout his investment courses. We know deeply how much he was loved and respected by all of you. We are truly grateful for the care and companionship his students have shown him over the years,” she wrote.
