MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais and Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri discussed oil market stability, energy security, and the importance of timely investment in the oil industry at a high-level meeting of the OPEC-India Energy Dialogue in New Delhi, OPEC said in a statement.
Discussions focused on oil market stability, energy security, and the importance of adequate and timely investments across the oil industry. Both sides reviewed the short-, medium-, and long-term outlooks, highlighting India’s key role in global economic growth and energy demand growth, the statement said.
India’s petroleum and natural gas minister called on OPEC to work closely with India to promote a balanced, stable, and predictable global energy market, the statement noted. The OPEC secretary general also praised India’s balanced, realistic, and pragmatic approach to addressing energy challenges, stressing that many of India’s energy priorities are OPEC’s priorities.
Both sides underscored the importance of deepening energy cooperation between OPEC and India, the organization added. The next high-level meeting of the OPEC-India Energy Dialogue will be held in Vienna, Austria.
