The passage of a cold front along the São Paulo coast is expected to trigger an abrupt change in weather conditions in the city of São Paulo this Friday (24), with forecasts of heavy rain, wind gusts and falling temperatures.
According to the CGE (Climate Emergency Management Center) of the City Hall, the phenomenon will be associated with an area of low atmospheric pressure, which will favor the formation of instabilities throughout the day and increase the risk of flooding, falling trees and other disruptions in the capital.
The forecast is for overcast skies from early morning, with rain from the early hours. As the day progresses, the instabilities are expected to intensify and may bring moderate to heavy showers, accompanied by lightning and wind gusts exceeding 35 km/h at times.
Temperatures will range from 15°C to 21°C, while relative air humidity remains high, with minimum levels around 75%.
The trend, however, is for a gradual improvement in weather conditions throughout the weekend. On Saturday (25), as the cold front moves away toward the ocean, the rain should ease and be limited to occasional drizzle between the early hours and the start of the morning. Despite persistent cloud cover, the sun may appear between clouds during the afternoon, favoring a slight rise in temperature.
According to the forecast, thermometers should register around 14°C in the early hours of the day and reach up to 21°C during the afternoon. Relative air humidity remains high, with minimum values close to 60%. In the evening, cloud cover is expected to increase again, with the possibility of isolated drizzle.
On Sunday (26), conditions may settle more consistently across the São Paulo capital. The early hours may still see overcast skies and temperatures close to 13°C, but sunshine is expected to predominate with few clouds throughout the day. The forecast high is 23°C, with no expectation of rain.
